Message From Our Founder

Ours is a story about a dream, a friendship, six thousand miles and the spirit of aloha. Since 1987, I`ve worked at a beautiful resort on Hawaii`s Big Island where I meet hundreds of interesting guests every day. Each holiday season, I send goody packages to the guests that befriend me during the year. It`s my way of sending the spirit of aloha back to my new friends.

It was one of these new friends, Karl, who encouraged me to explore my dream of starting my own business. One December, after loading the last of my gift boxes onto a FedEx truck, the dream became clear.

The Spirit of Aloha Worldwide

For the past three years, Big Island Sam`s has shared the spirit of aloha throughout the world in the form of gourmet gift baskets. Individually handmade, we can be very creative and design anything and everything our clients want. Millions of people come to Hawaii every year. But Big Island Sam`s brings Hawaii to you!

Today we have production centers in Hawaii and California with a sales office in Georgia. We`ve created thousands of custom amenity baskets for large corporate events and just as many individual orders for friends, families, or clients back on the mainland. A lot of hard work, time and aloha goes into each basket. If it doesn`t look good, it doesn`t leave Hawaii!

My days of packing holiday gift boxes have turned into the realization of my dream. It`s great having a dream, making it come true and sharing it with others.
I spoke to one of my Hawaiian friends when we started the business. He told me Big Island Sam`s is the perfect outlet for my aloha spirit and I should follow it. I did and we`ve been sending the spirit of aloha ever since - once gift basket at a time!

	The O`O bird Native Hawaiian bird with bright yellow feathers. Big Island Sam`s family name is based on this royal bird.
	The shaka Shaka is a familiar Hawaiian gesture, like waving to someone. The shaka says hello and goodbye.
